South Korea is a small country, about the size of the state of Indiana, located in Eastern Asia. South Korea is on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, bordering Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea. Korean culture is similar to that of China and Japan, but South Korea models is a republic, like the United States. "The Korean national flag is called Taegukki; white is a traditional Korean color and represents peace and purity; the blue section represents the negative cosmic forces of the yin, while the red symbolizes the opposite positive forces of the yang; in each corner is a trigram (kwae); each of which denotes one of the four universal elements, which together express the principle of movement and harmony" (From The CIA World Factbook).
